Tithe and offerings
Seventh-day Adventists return one tenth of their increase as tithe, and give offerings in support of the local congregation and the wider work of the Church.
Tithe and offerings are distinct, and go to different places.
- Tithe is one tenth of a member’s increase. It is forwarded from the local church to the Central Jamaica Conference, and supports pastoral ministry and evangelism across the Conference territory and the wider work of the Church.
- Offerings stay with the local congregation. They are applied to maintenance of the building, the operation of the departments, community outreach, and projects voted by the members in business session.
Visitors are under no obligation to give.
