God
Who God is, and how we know anything about Him at all: the Scriptures, the Trinity, and the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
A congregation of the Central Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, located at 7 Port Henderson Road, Portmore, St. Catherine.
The town of Portmore developed rapidly from the 1970s onward, and the Seventh-day Adventist congregation on Port Henderson Road grew alongside it. The church is today among the larger Adventist congregations in Jamaica and forms part of a district of churches in St. Catherine.
The morning divides into two parts, with the afternoon programme resuming after the lunch break. Visitors are welcome at any of these services.
The Bible Study Guide used here each quarter, and the doctrinal positions held by this congregation, are those of the world church. The line of organisation runs as follows.
Portmore is served by a pastoral team together with a board of elders, with deacons and deaconesses elected from the membership.
The pastor of the district has oversight of Portmore and the neighbouring congregations in St. Catherine.

Seventh-day Adventists hold 28 Fundamental Beliefs, voted in General Conference session. The Church groups them under six headings, set out below.
Who God is, and how we know anything about Him at all: the Scriptures, the Trinity, and the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Where we came from and what we are: made by God, in His image, and wholly dependent on Him for life.
The great controversy between Christ and Satan, and how the life, death and resurrection of Jesus answers it for anyone who will have it.
What the church is for, the mission it was given, and the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
How the faith is actually lived: spiritual gifts, the law, the Sabbath, stewardship, conduct, marriage and the family.
Christ’s ministry in the heavenly sanctuary, His return, the resurrection, and the new earth. What Adventists are named for.
Parking is available on the church grounds off Port Henderson Road. Members of the diaconate are stationed at the entrances before each service and will assist anyone attending for the first time in finding a seat. No registration is required.
